Albert's mother was Dorcas Biggs. The Biggs were a pioneering family who settled in Bunya. Albert listed George Biggs, Wongin Receiving Office, Bunya, as his next of kin when he enlisted on 1 February 1915 at Mackay. Albert was wounded in action in France and discharged 18 October 1917. Albert married Eva Annie Margaret Edgar in 1918 at Brisbane, they had four children.
