Albert's parents were James White and Catherine Reid. (second marriage of James White) The White family was early pioneers of North Pine and ran a successful dairy farmer on Oak Farm bordered by the North Pine River. The property remained in the White family until bought by Australia Paper Manufacturers to establish the Petrie Carton Board Mill. Albert enlisted on 21 September 1915 in Brisbane. Albert and his brother, Frederick , who was in the same Battalion embarked from Sydney on the R.M.S. â'˜Mooltan' on 9 April 1916. Albert and his brother Frederick were killed in action together on 10 June 1918.
