John O'Sullivan was the son of David O'Sullivan and Mary Schultz. John was working as a labourer and living in Hayden, via Toowoomba, Queensland when he enlisted on 3 January 1916. It would appear that John nominated his sister as his mother by mistake on his enlistment papers. His unit embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT Marathon on 27 October 1916. John was wounded in action in Messines, France on 7 June 1917 returning to Australia for discharge on 15 February, 1918.Birth date03 November 1887Death date14 November 1927
