TitleGeorge Lahiff with his wife Sarah Bridget Lahiff (nee Chambers) and their familyDescriptionGeorge Lahiff was born in Wollongong, New South Wales on 9 May 1884 to parents Michael Lahiff and Eleanor Shannon. He had a twin sister, Caroline. George Lahiff married Sarah Bridget Chambers on 12 June 1907. Sarah was born on 7 September 1882 at Samsonvale to parents James Chambers and Mary Ann McKeiver. On 7 December 1903 George Lahiff selected Portion 51V Parish of Pine, containing an area of 98 acres 1 rood 19 perches. He then selected Portion 64 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 22 acres, on 2 October 1905. George and Sarah had five daughters, the youngest being only two and a half months old when George Lahiff died on 24 November 1915, aged 31 years. Sarah died two and a half years later on 21 May 1918, aged 35 years. The girls were raised by members of their mother's Chambers family.
