Shell middens - Bribie Island stories

Join storyteller, Lyndon Davis at the Sandstone Point and Godwin Beach area, the site of one of the largest shell middens recorded by the early settlers. The middens are the dumping ground for shellfish commonly found in the area including cockle shells, mud and club welks and oyster shells. The shells were not left around campfires as the oyster shell in particular is very sharp.

Local Aboriginal Language Short Films are available online and are on show in Moreton Bay Region Libraries.
