Brendale (Qld.)
DETAILS
NameBrendale (Qld.)DescriptionThe Brendale locality name was gazette on 30 August 1980, following a suggestion by the well-known Strathpine developer, Bill Bowden, who had purchased the Brendale Stud Property located on South Pine Road (Sub 2 of Portion 130 and Portion 131, Parish of Warner). Although the derivation of the name was not initially understood, recent research has revealed that the Brendale property was named by descendants of the pioneering Davis family who settled in the South Pine (Brendale) region during the late 1860s. It is now known that ‘Brendale’ is a corruption of ‘Brentdale’, the name of an estate in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, formerly owned by the Davis/Davison family.
