(Bob) Davies in about 1916DescriptionMr Davies trimmed cypress pines into impressive shapes of kangaroos, emus, ships, trains etc. He had a small aviary and aquarium and also grew pineapples. His twin sisters Rose and Lil successfully ran a kiosk restaurant for many years specialising in homemade pea and ham soup and fresh fish dinners. Bob was also known for his hand pushed breakfast cart which he took from door to door selling bacon and eggs. He was internationally known in football circles and was a noted photographer. Visitors on the SS Koopa, SS Doomba, etc came to the novelty gardens in droves. Kanga (of Bribie Bowls fame) and Di Gleeson's home is on part of the novelty gardens property. The people in the photograph from left to right are Charlie Huet, Mr and Mrs Huet, Ruby Huet and Vera Huet. (The identity of the young man in the foreground is unknown).
