Joyner (Qld.)
DETAILS
NameJoyner (Qld.)DescriptionThe name Joyner originates from the Joyner family who were early settlers in the area. William Joyner arrived in 1844 selecting land 400 square miles south of the North Pine River, establishing the station “Samson Vale” in 1845. A thriving rural community developed thereafter. The establishment of the North Pine Dam all but destroyed the thriving rural community in 1975 when Lake Samsonvale was filled flooding numerous farms.
