TitleKriesch's slab hut, SamsonvaleDescriptionThe slabs, up to 1 metre in width, were split in 1875. As was the case with many other pioneering families, this building was the first residence for the Kriesch family until other accommodation could be built. It was then converted for use as a barn. In 1974, in order to save the barn from impending inundation resulting from the construction of the North Pine Dam, the Pine Rivers Historical Society moved the building to Sweeney Reserve, Petrie. A decade later, it was moved to the newly established North Pine Country Park.CollectorGold CollectionRecord typePhotographFormat typePhysicalOriginal format colourBlack and whiteNotesReproduced in the publication Tracks and Times, p.25.
