TitleNorth Pine Country Park - Kriesch's slab hutDescriptionOne of several barns grouped in the park. Photograph shows a dray carrying a sawn log in the foreground and a post and rail fence on the right hand side. The slabs, up to 1 metre in width, were split in 1875. As was the case with many other pioneering families, this building was the first residence for the Kriesch family until other accommodation could be built. It was then converted for use as a barn. In 1974, in order to save the barn from impending inundation resulting from the construction of the North Pine Dam, the Pine Rivers Historical Society moved the building to Sweeney Reserve, Petrie.
