TitleKriesch's Slab Barn, North Pine Country Park, 1994DescriptionThis slab timber barn was built in 1880 when the Kriesch family selected their farm land at Samsonvale on the North Pine River. The extremely wide slabs are up to 1.1 metres wide and were split from individual trees using only hand tools. The barn was saved from destruction by the Pine Rivers Historical Society prior to the inundation of the area by the waters of Lake Samsonvale (North Pine Dam). There is a wagon sitting out the front of the barn.Date1994PhotographerPine Rivers Shire CouncilCollectorPine Rivers Shire CouncilRecord typePhotographFormat typePhysicalOriginal format colourBlack and white
