He has also been the president of many associations on the Peninsula. Mr White served as a state member for Redcliffe for 10 years (1979-1989).
1955 Commenced his apprenticeship at Scarborough
1959 Acquired Miss Margaret Millar’s Woody Point Pharmacy
1960 Established the first free radio-controlled prescription and medication delivery service to Redcliffe residents
1963 Opened his Clontarf Pharmacy
1964 The Margate Pharmacy opened for business
1965 Birth of Terry and Rhonda’s twins, the first pigeon pair for the new Redcliffe Hospital
1967 Terry a committee man of the Ann Shearer Pre-School, Margate
1969 As inaugural President of the Woody Point Parents & Friends, Terry spearheads the establishment of local school
1970 Terry foundation President of the Margate Chamber of Commerce
1975 Terry instrumental in establishing Redcliffe Day & Night pharmacy
1976 Kippa-Ring chemist shop opened
1976 Elected President of the Queensland Pharmacy Guild and member of the Government advisory committee
1978 Terry first Queenslander to b elected Vice President of the National Pharmacy Guild and national Chairman of the Finance and Planning Committee
Terry White fought his first Queensland State Election for the seat of Redcliffe when he campaigned unsuccessfully against the sitting member Jim Houghton in the election of 12 November 1977. When Jim Houghton retired in 1979, Terry was again endorsed as the Liberal candidate for Redcliffe and won the by-election held 1 September 1979 by a narrow squeak. He then went on to win the seat at the next state election held 29 November 1980. He was selected as parliamentary leader of the Liberal Party on Tuesday 9 August 1983 and then resigned the leadership after the State Elections on Monday 24 October 1983. He held his seat until the State election of 2 December 1989 when he was defeated by Labor candidate Ray Hollis.
In the 2006 Australia Day Honours, Terry White was appointed an Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia.Birth date3 September 1936
