DETAILS
NameIvy England Park, Ferny Hills (Qld.)Information
Ivy England PRSC MP 49418, 2 October 1984. For over 50 years Mrs Ivy May England and her husband Leslie William lived on the granted special lease land in the forest where Mr England had a job keeping the firebreaks clear of undergrowth. A family of 8 children were born and reared here, where the tiny piece of road named for the family remained unformed for many many years. The park to the north of her property was named to honour Mrs England, an old timer who continued her usual lifestyle, despite the encroaching housing development and establishment of Patricks Road School on her fence line. Mrs England died 30 September 1987.
