Pine Rivers Cricket Club honoured Jack Gilliland's dedication to the sport over 50 years by naming a field after him. He played cricket for 20 years before devoting 30 years to umpiring. He was a life member of the Pine Rivers Cricket Club and the Warehouse Cricketers Umpires' Association. It was unveiled by Gilliand's wife Maureen, family friend Mayor Yvonne Chapman and Councillor Chris Monsour. Jack died in 2000 aged 70.
