Keith Houghton Park, Murrumba Downs (Qld.)

This parkland is named after Keith Alwyn Houghton, whose great grand parents moved to Petrie in 1867. Keith’s father established Roseland Nursery at Lawnton, which was sold in 1989, and now is the site of the Lawnton Tavern. Keith grew up in Pine Rivers and has had a life long interest in many local organisations, including a long history of Houghton family involvement in the Pine Rivers Agriculture Horticulture and Industrial Society. In 1952 Keith followed his father in the position for 10 years, and has now been honoured with a life membership.
