The project was instigated by library manager Jane Cowell and supervised by author Gary Crew and youth art worker Adam Lewczuk. The aim of the project was to encourage boys to write. A partnership was established with Shaftsbury Campus, whose family support counsellor, Kristian Wale, gathered the likely participants.
