This DVD contains interviews with locals, ex servicemen, historian and pilots talking about the history of Camp Strathpine during World War 2. A local street in this area was named Spitfire Avenue, this avenue is one of the three original airfields that was used here during the early to mid 1940's and is the only one that still remains today. On April 19 1944 two spitfires from 548 Sqn were involved in a mid air collision resulting in the loss of the lives of two pilots from the Royal Air Force. The first few segments in this film are dedicated to help preserve the memories of these 2 airmen.
