Alexander Wilfred Cox was 21 years, working as a labourer and living in Morayfield, Queensland, when he enlisted on 26 January 1916 but was discharged on 13 April 1916 due to poor eyesight. He married Moina Ogalbe Murray on 15 May 1926. Nothing is known of Alexander's parents. He had nominated a brother from Bournemouth, England, as his next of kin. According to Electoral Rolls he was living in Morayfield from 1916 to 1919.
