Alfred was the son of Edmund Coomer and Eliza Emma Prior who resided in Caboolture, Queensland. He was single, working as a labourer and living in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, at the time of his enlistment in January 1916. Alfred was educated at Caboolture State School. He was killed in action at Messines in July 1917. An older brother, Ernest [4011] also enlisted the same year.Birth date11 September 1892Death date21 July 1917
