Sergeant A E Nonmus and two other soldiers were awarded the Military Medal:
For gallentry and devotion to duty. He was the driver of the train crew who were detailed to remove three 9.2 inch guns from beyond Roisel (France) on the night of 21 March/22 March 1918. They were successful removed after 6 hours operations, during which time they were being continuously shelled and shrapnel falling incessantly. Their coolness and courage was most marked and commendable. After the guns were successfully removed and left at Doingt, these men again returned with the object of removing the two 18 inch guns at Villers-Faucon, but as the line was so badly broken the effort was unsuccessful.
