Archibald came from a large family of nine children. There were six brothers of which the three youngest enlisted in September 1916. The two other brothers were Harold Ivo [1690] and Sydney Herbert [3327]. He was 21 years and was a sawyer when he enlisted. After the war, he returned to D'Aguilar and married Edith Jane Hardy in 1923. The couple took up residence in Banyo, Queensland.Birth date26 August 1895Death date18 January 1970
