Bertie's parents were Johann Carl Gustav John Dux and Bertha Dorothea Lange who lived on Bribie Island, Queensland. He was single, a Railway porter and living at Concord West, New South Wales, when he enlisted in June 1916. Before leaving England after the war, Bertie was granted leave to work with a coach building firm in London for a few weeks to gain experience before coming home. At that time he married Lottie Miranda Bradley at Bedford Park, Chiswick, East London, England on 19 July 1919 and they both returned to Australia in November 1919.Birth date06 October 1896Death date02 December 1973
