Charles Robert Crooks was the son of Walter Joseph Crooks and Elizabeth Stuart who lived in Caboolture, Queensland. He was single and an apprentice bootmaker at the time of his enlistment in September 1915. Charles returned to Australia in July 1919 and continued working as a bootmaker in Caboolture until 1925. He married Lily Ethel May Allen in September 1924 and they lived in Northgate, Queensland. Charles was then a Railway employee. Charles and Lily eventually retired to Beachmere.Birth date18 April 1896Death date21 June 1943
