Charles Thomas was the son of Thomas Hayden and Jane Griffin. He had a son from his first marriage when he married Elizabeth Emily Haussman (second wife) in 1913. Charles enlisted in October 1916. At that time he was living at Woodford, Queensland, was 36 years old and worked as a tube fitter. After the war he lived in Mackay. He married Ada Richards in 1921. Just before his death the couple moved back to Brisbane where they lived at Stones Corner. Charles was working as a night watchman.Birth date09 July 1898Death date21 June 1943
