Colin enlisted with his brother James [543A] and M Walsh on July 6 1915. Colin nominated his sister Frances Jane Smith as his next of kin. On his return in 1919 Colin married Annie Louisa Denney in September 1922. They lived at Dingo in Queensland for a few years where Colin worked as a mail contractor before eventually moving to Rockhampton where Colin worked in the postal service.
