Edward was the son of Joseph Wilson and Eliza Jane Irving. His father had died in 1905 in Candelo, New South Wales, and his mother had moved to Woodford, Queensland sometime after his death. He was single, a farmer and living in Woodford at the time of his enlistment in 1916. Edward returned to Woodford after he was discharged in 1919. Two of his brothers, James [3961] (killed in 1918) and Jack [2000], also enlisted.Death date02 February 1976
