He was 32 and working as a labourer when he enlisted on 20 March 1915. His unit embarked from Brisbane, Queensland on board HMAT Karoola on 12 June 1915. He sustained a bullet wound to his left arm at Gallipoli. Frederick returned to Australia and was discharged medically unfit in January 1916. According to the Electoral Rolls, Frederick's occupation was a painter and he and his wife lived in Caboolture for a period time from 1916.Birth date03 June 1893Death date24 June 1948
