Frederick's parents were John James Cash and Bridget Annie Keong well-known local identities of Albany Creek. He was working as a farmer when he enlisted at Rockhampton on 22 September 1915. Frederick enlisted one day after his brother Percy enlisted. He was wounded in action in 1918 and returned to Australia. He married Anna Maria Noy on 7 September 1920 at Ambrose, they had 3 children. Frederick's brothers, Frank [3784A], Percy [5059] and Bartley [no service number] also enlisted. Percy and Frank were both killed.
Frederick Joseph Cash also lived in Ambrose, north of Gladstone which is in the Gladstone Regional Council area. His name appears on the Gladstone-Calliope Roll of Honour Board located in the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.Birth date11 March 1892Death date08 June 1960
