Frederick Morland Pearson was the son of George and Mary Isabel Pearson who lived at Bishop Auckland, Durham, England. On 3 September 1916 Frederick was wounded in action in France and sent to England to recuperate. While there he married Elizabeth Brownbridge on 25 October 1916 in Bishop Auckland, Durham. Private Pearson and two other men were Headquarters runners who were awarded the Military Medal:
They all did exceptional work under most trying circumstances during operations from 7th to 9th June (1917), acting as runners and guides through very heavy shelling over great distances with rare courage eagerness and cheerfulness. When all other communications were cut and enemy fire was exceptionally heavy it was through the work of these men that communications between front line, Battalion Headquarters and back to Brigade Headquarters were maintained. While still serving as a runner during the Battle at Broodseinde Ridge, Private Pearson and another soldier were once again recommended for their efforts during the operations. Frederick was killed in action in France.Birth date18 May 1890Death date05 April 1918
