Frederick William Harmening aka Hatton parents were Charles Henry Clements Harmening and Amy Elizabeth Filmer. He enlisted 18 November 1915 at Brisbane. Although born in West Maitland NSW when enlisting he stated he was born in Canterbury, England. Hatton was the maiden name of his maternal grandmother.
