George Henry Poulton was the youngest of George James Poulton and Elizabeth Hawkins four children. His father had died in 1903 and his mother then married Owen Edward McManus in 1918. George was single, living in Caboolture and employed as a labourer with his cousin, George Henry Wallace, at the time of his enlistment in November 1915. He nominated his sister, Elizabeth, as next of kin. George was wounded in a bombing raid near the Railway depot one mile east of Poperinghe, Belgium, and died at the age of 19 years. According to family records, his older brother, James William Poulton [16077] was with him at the time of his death.Birth date05 September 1898Death date08 October 1917
