Buried: Buderim Cemetery, Queensland Gilbert Brierly was the fifth son of Alfred Nonmus and Sarah Catherine Brierly who lived at Woodford, Queensland. Gilbert was single, working as a sawmiller and living in Woodford, Queensland at the time of his enlistment in September 1916. He was severely wounded in October 1917 and after convalescing in England, he returned to Australia for discharge in June 1918. On his return Gilbert purchased back the sawmill which he had established around 1915 in Buderim, Queensland. He married Agnes Neil in June 1928 in Buderim and the couple lived there until their deaths. Two older brothers, Alfred Edward [1295] and Hector [636], also enlisted.Birth date15 July 1885Death date08 March 1966
