Gilbert's parents were William James Fogg and Margaret Emily Draper. The Foggs of Samsonvale and Drapers of Bunya were pioneering families. Gilbert's Grandfather William Fogg was a well-known pioneer of the district
he was a member of the first Pine Divisional Board and also a director of the local butter factory at Samsonvale. The locality Draper was chosen to honour the pioneering Draper family. Gilbert enlisted in January 1916 at Brisbane. Gilbert was killed in action in France on 22nd January 1917. Gilbert's younger brother, Sydney [2876] enlisted as well, Sydney returned home.Birth date28 March 1898Death date22 January 1917
