Born Henry Bevis, Harry was the son of Alfred Bevis and Mary Jane Giddings who resided at Villeneuve, Queensland. He had immigrated with some of the family to Australia on board the Rippingham Grange, arriving in Brisbane on 14 March 1912. He was single, working as a farm labourer and living at Villeneuve, Queensland when he enlisted with his brother, Alfred [40], in December 1915. Two other brothers, Richard [153] and William [149], had previously enlisted. On the 1925 Electoral Roll Harry was living with Richard in Beerburrum, Queensland.Death date18 Jan 1874
