Henry was 40 years old, living in Caboolture, Queensland, and working as a labourer at the time of his enlistment in June 1915. He listed his next of kin as his brother, Albert, who also lived in Caboolture. Henry returned to Caboolture in 1917 and appears to have left the district after the death of his father, Philip, sometime after 1925.
