Herman's parents were Conrad Johan Fredrick Buhmann and Christianne Auguste Marie Leffer. Herman attended school at Mt Pleasant, Upper North Pine School. The Buhmann family were pioneers of Mt Pleasant. Herman was living at Mt Pleasant and working as a farmer when he enlisted on 3 March 1917 at Brisbane. He was killed in action in France July 1918, aged 24. His brother Carl William [469] enlisted as well, he returned home.Birth date13 November 1893Death date04 July 1918
