Buried: Not Known Horace's parents were Arthur Herbert Gilbert and Harriet Mowlan. Horace attended North Pine State School and his parents were living at North Pine prior to the war. Horace was a carrier when he enlisted on 19 September 1914 in Brisbane. Horace was posted to the 5th light horse regiment however this did not last for without any reason shown or given he was discharged from the army on 5 October 1914. Horace had been one of a family of seven and the first of three brothers to enlist. The second was Herbert [1650] and Gordon [1655] was the last and was also killed.Birth date29 December 1891
