Howard's parents were Alfred John Taylor and Emily McRae. Brother of Harold Ernest McRae Taylor who also enlisted. Howard attended Bunya State School. He married Alice Goldsmith in 1897 and they had two children. Harold was a farmer at Bunya from 1901 to 1908, he then moved to Woodford. When he enlisted on 22 March 1917 he was living at Woodford and working as a Grazier. Howard was killed in action 25 September 1918.Death date25 September 1918
