James's parents were Alexander Wightman and Jane Horne. James was working as a blacksmith and living at Wongun, Bunya when he enlisted on 11 March 1916. His unit embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT A42 Boorara on 16 August 1916. He returned to Bunya after the war and continued working as a blacksmith. His older brother Alexander Horne [3965] enlisted and returned to Australia at the end of the war.Birth date03 November 1883Death date08 April 1971
