James was the son of James Sommerville and Ann J Curry. He married Ellen Mary Brown in 1914 and enlisted June 1915. At that time his wife Ellen was living at Hamilton House Redcliffe. James was captured at Suez Canal on 4 August 1916 and died from Typhus in a prisoner of war camp in Angora, Turkey.Birth date21 April 1883Death date10 May 1917
