John Randall aged 16 when he enlisted, son of George Randall and Louisa Marshall. John was working as a timber getter when he enlisted 18 March 1916 at Brisbane. When John joined up in 1916 he was under age. On his enlistment paper he claimed his mother's name was Martha not Louisa, Martha was his sister's name. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A64 Demosthenes on 18 May 1916. He returned to Australia 15 April 1918. John married Violet May Neilsen and settled in Lawnton, his occupation was a linesman. Two of John's brothers enlisted, David Richard [6612] and Ernest Stanley [3958], David was killed.Birth date1 May 1900Death date08 February 1958
