John William McAndrew was the third son of James McAndrew and Isabella Snowdon who lived at Toorbul, Queensland. John was single, working as a labourer and living at Goodna, Queensland, at the time of his enlistment in May 1916. Two other brothers, Frederick Lindsay [3414] and Walter George [1526], had also enlisted. John returned to Goodna after the war and married Anna Christina Claussen in October 1921.Death date10 April 1961
