Leonard was the son of Harry Leonard Peters and Annie Neill, Como, Redcliffe. He enlisted July 1915. After the war Leonard was unfit to work as a blacksmith as a result of his injuries. He lived with his family at Redcliffe where he was well known as a motor car proprietor.
