He was single, living in Rocksberg, Queensland and working as a farm labourer when he enlisted in May 1916. Leslie returned to Australia with gunshot wounds to left arm and leg on 10 September 1917. After the war he married Phyllis Magdalen King in June 1924 and worked as a tram conductor. The couple resided at Coorparoo, Brisbane, Queensland. Two other brothers, Ernest [No Number] and Hubert Lancelot [955] who was killed while on tank duty in France, had enlisted.Birth date12 June 1894Death date11 June 1963
