Neil was the son of Neil Campbell and Elizabeth Stewart. The family went to North Queensland when he was quite young. After his school days in Coolgara, Queensland and Mareeba, he worked with his father at Mt Carbine, Queensland. He was single and working as a miner when he enlisted in May 1916. On his return from war service he settled in Mt Molloy and married Martha Michael Elizabeth Edwards in 1922. One of his sons, Neil, was killed while serving with the RAAF in the early part of World War II.Birth date15 October 1889Death date09 April 1948
