Norman's parents were Alexander Jackson Wyllie and Margaret Amelia Cameron. The Wyllie family were a local pioneering family, Norman's father, Alexander owned the 'Riverleigh' at North Pine/Petrie. The Wyllie paddocks were used for outdoor events in the region, the family is remembered by Wyllie Park and A.J. Wyllie Bridge at Petrie. Norman attended North Pine State School. He was living with his parents at North Pine and working as a railway clerk when he enlisted on 26 January 1916. Norman returned home to North Pine after the war and married Mary Cecillia Harley. He died age 82 and is buried at Lawnton Cemetery.Birth date05 April 1893Death date15 March 1976
