Buried: Unknown Owen's parents were John Tanner and Matilda Eleanor Berry who farmed at Whiteside. Owen attended North Pine State School with his two brothers. Leslie [1050] and Alan [20] both of whom enlisted in the war. Owen was a member of the Toowong Rifle Club. He was living in Brisbane and working as an Apiarist when he enlisted on 24 January 1916. 250 acres of land adjacent to the Highlands in Samford district was the farm of Owen Tanner and his wife Mary Emily Lee from 1920 to 1946. Owen was elected to represent Division One of 1939 Pine Shire Council. Owen Norman and Leslie Harold were twins. All three brothers returned home.Birth date05 June 1892
