Percy Robert Tilney was the fifth son of Robert Reuben Tilney and Elizabeth Anne Woods who lived in Woodford. His grandparents, Ambrose Tilney and Martha Whittred, were one of the early pioneer families to settle in Woodford. Percy was single, working as a farmer and living with his mother in Nundah, Queensland when he enlisted in August 1916. He married Ellen Gooda in 1921 and they lived in Beaudesert, Queensland, however, by 1934 they had moved to Home Hill. In 1942 Percy again enlisted for World War II but did not serve overseas.Birth date20 May 1898Death date14 June 1976
