Buried: Toowong Cemetery Richard's parents were William Henry Bond and Annie Hamilton, both well-known pioneering families of Terrors Creek. He was educated at Upper North Pine State School and was the oldest of eight children. He enlisted 3 January 1916 in Brisbane. He embarked for overseas service on 1 May 1916, was wounded in action on 14 November 1916 and returned to Australia 4 May 1917. He married Sarah Ellen Allison July 1934 at Coorparoo, Queensland. He died aged 60. Three of Richard's brothers enlisted Donald Archibald [4763] who was killed, Frederick Arthur [466] and Thomas James [3473].Birth date17 July 1880Death date02 December 1940
