Robert was the son of Robert Dawes and Jane Taylor. He married to Sarah Ellen Shaw and they immigrated to Australia on the Orsova in 1911 with their son Clifford. Robert was 37 years old and farming in Mt Mee, Queensland, at the time of his enlistment in May 1917. Their only son Clifford, was killed at Torbruk, Libya in 1941.Birth date29 March 1880Death date07 August 1950
